On Friday, October 18, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed that China's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 4.8 percent year-on-year in the first nine months of 2024, with a 4.6 percent year-on-year expansion in the third quarter. In an exclusive interview with an SFC reporter, Richard Yetsenga, ANZ Group Chief Economist, pointed out that China's growth is a bedrock for the region's performance. With the stimulus measures that have been implemented and the continuation of structural reforms, China can sustain strong growth into 2025.
